An another rival in MPV segment, Chevrolet Enjoy to launch on May 9........

An another rival in hotly-contested MPV segment in India.

Shown first as a concept at the Auto Expo held back in January, the Enjoy is an out-and-out MPV developed in China to cater to the needs of a typical Indian family with its eight-seater layout and acres of space. In terms of overall stance, the Chevrolet Enjoy MPV will directly challenge the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, the Nissan Evalia MPV, Mahindra Xylo and the Toyota Innova in the Indian market.

The Enjoy may not look as contemporary as the Ertiga but is pleasant enough. The profile is typically MPV, the short, steeply raked nose meets the large windscreen and massive body, and there are some interesting details. There’s an attractive swage line that runs off the bottom of the grille, the prominent ‘V’ in the bonnet looks smart, and the line that runs from the front wheel arch to the rear breaks up the mass of the body quite nicely. The back of the Enjoy is, however, large and very boxy and the 14-inch wheels are a bit too small.

Like the Ertiga it is built on a car-like monocoque chassis but unlike the Maruti it has the engines placed longitudinally and, more importantly, sends power to the rear wheels. One of the biggest benefits of having a monocoque structure in an MPV is that you don’t have a big, stout frame sitting below you. This automatically means you can have more space for the passengers. Slipping into the seats after opening the big doors is dead easy, they are almost at the perfect height, and once inside, legroom and headroom on both rows is plentiful. Both Enjoys we drove were top-of-the-line models and had captain seats for the second row, so levels of comfort are really high in both cases. The chairs have good thigh support and a wide base, and back support is also very good. We also found that the third row was surprisingly useable. The second row seats don’t flip forward, so you need to crouch and walk past the second row to access the rearmost seats. This requires some amount of contortion, but because you can also slide the second row captain seats up and down, you can actually fit adult legs in there.

The ambience inside the cabin isn’t too bad either. The cabin is light and airy and visibility from all seats is good. The design of the two-tone dash is a bit boring and old fashioned on the one hand, but on the flipside it is neat and uniform, meaning it won’t put off many people. The levels of fit and finish however are less than impressive. You are surrounded by a phalanx of hard plastics and the even the stitching of the seats look distinctly aftermarket.

There aren’t too many really useful cubby holes either. The door pockets are shallow and the pair of cup holders can only hold small cans and not bottles of water. Equipment levels too are a bit disappointing. There’s no Bluetooth, no climate control, the music system is a mere single-DIN unit and the driver does not even get a dead pedal.

The expected starting pricing for the base petrol variant is sub-Rs 6 lakh and close to the Rs 7 lakh mark for the base diesel variant.

stay tuned for more details.!!!!!!

Lamborghini tractors on track to be sold in India by 2014.....

Yes, what u read is correct a sports car maker lamborghini who started his business with tractor now entering in indian market with tractors.
The SAME Deutz-Fahr (SDF) Group which acquired the tractor maker from its famous parent, is studying the Indian market.

The target market for the high end tractors (sold in western markets for more than USD 20,000) will be rich farmers, high profile individuals with agricultural interests, along with golf courses, sports stadiums and premium resorts.

  • The company already makes Lamborghini tractors (around 800 were made last year) at its Ranipet plant in Tamil Nadu for export to markets like Europe and Malaysia.
  • The company sold around 2,000 units of its Deutz-Fahr tractors in India, and exported around 4,000 units in 2012.
  • The company also makes 15,000 tractor engines in India.
  • Key markets are Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Western UP & MP and Punjab.
  • High level of localisation with import component of only 10%. MRF tyres and Exide batteries already fitted on the tractors.
  • Indian operations account for about 10% (Euro 120 million) of the SDF group's annual sales.

Ferrari tractors will also be sold in India by tractor maker Escorts, in partnership with Italian firm BCS S.p.A.
Surprisingly, despite the name Ferrari, these tractors don’t have any link with the famous Italian automaker. The Ferrari tractor manufacturer is based in Luzzara (Italy) and made its first tractor in 1957 called the MC 57.
It was acquired by the BCS group in 1988. Escorts will be selling Ferrari's 26 Hp model priced at Rs. 8 Lakh. The tractors will be imported from Italy and assembled in India by Escorts.

Maruti Suzuki to debut WagonR Stingray(Toll boy) in India.......

Designer:- Ikuko Tsurumaki

The car which is known as wagonR.......looks also almost like wagon but with some intelligent design is now gets new intelligent wagon look.........this time looking more sexier than the last one with more height...and more sitting comfort

In the middle of a slowdown, Maruti Suzuki, India's largest carmaker, is debuting an all new premium WagonR Stingrayin the small car segment. It would position this all-new car higher than the WagonR. The new Stingray variant hit the Japanese market last year and carries several improvements that would also be updated in the Indian variant.

First seen in February 2007, Stingray is a sportier version of the WagonR with a more aggressive frontal styling and masculine cues in the rear. While the overall shape is expected to be on the lines of a standard WagonR, Stingray would have thinner and deeper headlamps with sleeker and sportier chrome strip on the grille that runs between these horizontal front lights. The interiors would be also be reworked with different colour contrasts and an integrated gear stick on the dashboard rather than the floor.

According to two people having direct knowledge of this probable launch, it is one of the major products for Maruti to gain volumes in 2013 and should debut during the lead monsoon season. It's a new upscale variant of the WagonR that would be sold along with the existing car. While the trial production is on its way, the launch should happen in the next few months. It would help the company to space out a new premium position for this car, along with its other offering to break away from the immensely crowded Indian small car market.

While the Japanese variant comes in a sophisticated but smaller 660 cc engine, the Indian car would have fuel efficient and responsive 1000cc three-cylinder KSeries petrol engine that also powers the A-Star and Alto K10. As sales of petrol cars are on the decline and to fight the dull sentiment prevailing in the domestic market, Maruti may also debut the CNG and LPG variants that are available in the current Wagon R sold in India.

A diesel variant is ruled out for the time being as the company is still working on a compact diesel engine for its smaller models. Unlike the Japanese variant that is mated to an automatic transmission, the local car would be initially available with a manual transmission for its normal trim levels

Tata-Nano-Diesel-Engine.......some spied specifications......

Here are some interesting specification of tata nano diesel engine:-

+ CAR Make Tata

+ ENGINE Fuel Diesel

Here is the full story of development of turbocharger for 2-cylinder turbo engine:-

A new chapter in the story of ultra-fuel efficient auto design opened in 2012 with the development of the world’s first 2-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine.
Today, the 0.8L engine, boosted by Honeywell’s smallest-ever turbo, can be seen powering vehicles through the busy streets of India’s cities and towns, typically carrying goods from warehouses to local businesses. For Honeywell, boosting such a small engine created a whole new set of design and engineering challenges.
“The issues in developing a turbo for a 2-cylinder engine not only revolve around packaging but also around specific challenges linked to compressor surge, oil leakage, high vibrations and high thrust load due to engine pulsations. These issues are far more pronounced here than in a four-cylinder engine,” says Vijayan Asvathanarayanan, Director of Application Engineering for Honeywell Turbo Technologies in India.
This meant that Honeywell engineers had to approach the turbo design from a completely new angle.
“We came up with a totally new turbocharger that included a very small turbine housing with integrated manifold, and the smallest-ever compressor wheel developed by Honeywell. The higher relative thrust loads brought about by the pulsation of a bi-cylinder engine meant creating new concept thrust pads in the Z-bearing – vital if we were to be efficient in matching the turbo to the engine requirements.”
A high-efficiency, compact bearing was developed – and the design was so successful that it is now being extended to other turbo sizes as well.
The result of this intense engineering activity is a well-performing and reliable turbo fitted in the 2-cylinder OEM production engine since 2011, which is contributing to a remarkable 25% improvement in power over a non-turbo equivalent and to significant fuel efficiency gains and lower emissions.
Critically, the proven success paves the way for the roll-out of a new generation of turbocharged 2- and 3-cylinder diesel passenger cars and light commercial vehicles, particularly in emerging regions.

legend returns.....Royal Enfield Bullet 500......!!!!!!!!

Royal Enfield has dipped deep into their existing parts bin and has come up with a new Bullet 500. Powering the motorcycle is a 500cc twin-spark carburetted 4-stroke UCE engine which makes 26.4PS of power and a meaty 40.9Nm of torque. A 5-speed gearbox on the left side helps put all this power to the ground.

As far as styling goes, it looks a traditional Bullet and Royal Enfield is offering it with a new Frost
Green colour. The round headlamp unit now houses what the company calls as Tiger Lamps. On the tank now there is silver and gold livery for the RE logo. The pillion gets cushion-finished grab-rail while the tail lamp is the traditional RE rounded unit. The tyre size is similar to the fuel injected 500 , 19-inchers with the front wheel getting a 280mm disc brake.

Mahindra to launch Verito Notchback named Vibe next month......

The Verito Vibe will come with the same frugal 1.5L dCi Diesel engine and driveline as on the Verito (sourced from Renault).
Mahindra is expected to price the Vibe notchback competitively (around Rs 6 Lakh) as a result the lower excise duty of 12 % that it attracts, since it is less than 4 metres in length. A petrol engine option is not expected to be available at launch.
Mahindra's new offering will face competition from Maruti's Dzire, Tata's Indigo eCS and Honda's newly launched Amaze. The competent but blandly styled Verito has been managing sales of slightly over 1000 units on an average over the last 6 months (1211 units sold last month). In comparison, Maruti sold just over 20,000 units of the Dzire last month.
Developing a sub 4 metre notchback on the Verito platform will also enable Mahindra to benefit from a common platform which results in lower costs. Mahindra had already spent approximately Rs 50 crore earlier on the facelifted Verito launched last year.
Name of the model vibe itself suggest that they are targeting texi market of india.

Sub 4 mtr race...nw its VW developing sub-four-metre Vento.......

Every one wants to get benifit from sub 4 mtr segment so, after honda amze now its VW..........

VW has confirmed that it is developing a sub-four-metre Vento for the Indian market. “This is one possibility we are looking at,” said Ulrich Hackenberg, R&D chief at Volkswagen.
The sub-four-metre Vento will compete with the Honda Amaze and Maruti Swift Dzire and VW is hoping that the compact Vento will bring additional sales.
VW is unlikely to launch the compact Vento, which is being developed by VW India’s R&D team in Chakan, before 2014. VW's strategy is to try and maximise the Polo/Vento (PQ25) platform as much as possible by developing other body styles for segments where it is absent. A compact SUV and even an MPV based on the PQ25 platforms are also being considered.

Kawasaki Ninja 300 launched......

The latest Ninja for India replaces the 250cc version and is powered by a 39bhp motor.

Kawasaki’s Ninja 250R came to India in 2009. The quarter litre champion achieved fair success here, and has now been upgraded with a 296cc engine to become the Ninja 300 in 2013. The 300 has just arrived on our shores.

The Ninja 300 has received major styling upgrades, and comes with ZX-10R inspired dual headlamps and a floating visor. Then there’s a sharper nose and tail section in keeping with latest generation large capacity Ninjas, plus dual tone body panels and flush fitted front turn indicators. The Ninja 300 deploys a new set of smart five-spoke alloy wheels and its engine and frame are finished in black. The 300 also gets larger revised fairing vents and a radiator fan cowl to dissipate heat effectively and away from its rider, a feature certain to prove a boon in our climate.

The rider reads a digital speedometer and analogue tachometer. The smartly designed digital display console also shows an odometer, fuel indicator, dual trip meters and clock, apart from an economy indicator. This time round, the Ninja gets a handy pass light switch as was earlier absent.

The Ninja 300 chain guard doubles as protection for the monoshock, keeping dirt and grime at bay. Under seat storage has been increased, the 300 now offering bi-level storage, with individual compartments for tools and documents. The Ninja 300 footrests are machined aluminium units giving it a proper big bike look.

The Ninja 300 houses a four-stroke, parallel-twin and liquid-cooled, 296cc engine. This fuel-injected engine generates maximum power of 38.5bhp at 11000rpm, with peak torque 2.8kgm and delivered at 10000rpm. The extensively reworked engine gets lighter pistons with flatter crowns and shorter connecting rods, sleeveless die-cast cylinders in an 'open deck' format, weighing in at 600gm less, plus a longer stroke cylinder that measures 62 x 49mm. Both intake ports are larger, and seat larger dia valves. The 300 also gets new crankcases. Power is sent to the rear tyre via a 1-down, 5-up shifted, 6-speed gearbox, helped by a slipper clutch system, usually only found on larger capacity motorcycles.

The Ninja 300 weighs 172kg and deploys a reworked rigid, diamond type, steel frame. The frame uses redesigned main tubes, with high tensile steel sections increasing rigidity. Rubber engine mounts are new. The Ninja 300 uses a pair of 37mm telescopic front forks, with softened spring rates and a linked, 5-way preload adjustable monoshock at rear. The bike provides a tubeless front (110/70 x 17inch) tyre and broader (140/70 x 17inch) rear tyre. The riding position remains sporty, but with slightly raised handlebars. The seat is a touch more narrow to better accommodate shorter riders. And the Ninja 300 provides Nissin made disc brakes, 290mm disc in front and 220mm unit at rear. However, the omission of ABS on the India-spec bike is quite an oversight on part of the manufacturer.
